Testing Crosses (Above/Below)

By default, Tradewell backtests metric values that fall within a range you specify. But there may be times when you want to isolate signals that appear only when a metric is rising or falling. Fortunately, the Advanced Settings include tools that can help you do this.

By navigating to the second dropdown in the Backtest Settings section of the Advanced Settings section, you can select either Backtest When Crosses Above Value or Backtest When Crosses Below Value.

If you have a selected Backtest When Crosses Below Value, you must use either the left input box, or the left range slider button to choose a "Cross Below Value" Likewise, if you' ve selected Backtest When Crosses Above Value you must either use the right input box, or the right range slider button to choose a "Cross Below Value".
